My last final completed and the weekend awaiting, i hurried to the public library grabbing a book to experience a world away from mine. Little did i know that the 400 pg. mystery novel would turn my world upside down when it no longer worked as the cure to my sorrow and the key to happiness.
Like any normal human being i moated and complianed of the difficulty of this life. Next, i turned to my usual band-aid to cure that feeling which is to think of people on this earth that are less fortunate than myself. To my surprise, that didn’t work either!
Now i was panicking.
I thought and thought of other things to help me through my difficult time. So i looked through my prayer books and started reading about the lives of the prophets of Islam. Learning about their lives brought me peace and the ability to reflect deeper than the comparison of my life to those that are less fortunate.
Nothing is better than being uplifted from inspiration brought forth by those that were the best of mankind.
Today, i read about the lives of the prophets Adam and Nuh, also know as Noah(may peace be upon them).
If i had to summarized the lessons from their lives i would say that humans are fragile and weak. Yet, God has created human qualities that are beneficial in any situation one of those is patience. A quality that all of us could use in our daily lives as prophet Noah did (peace be upon him). A quality i need in abundance in my life and which i pray to God for every day.
On a lighter note, i learned Noah’s Ark rested upon on Mt. Judi in my country of Kurdistan. Kurdistan is a region that is very mountainous which i have always regared them as God’s greatest art. An art that He used to help one of His beloved prophets.
